Tanya Stewart Blackmon, MBA, MSW, is the president and founder of Auspen Consulting, a firm specializing in business and cultural transformation, leadership development, executive coaching and accelerating thriving teams. As a former hospital president and chief operating officer, she leverages her executive experience to coach and guide leaders through complex business challenges, organizational change and stronger team performance.
As a Certified Professional Coach for senior executives, Tanya grounds her approach in systems thinking and strategic innovation. She sees leaders as catalysts within complex organizational systems and coaches them to lead with clarity, effectiveness and impact.
Before launching Auspen Consulting, Tanya served on the Novant Health Executive Team, where she operationalized core values across 16 hospitals and more than 37,000 employees, contributing to significant market share growth and financial gains.

Tanya is a Certified Professional Coach through the Academy of Creative Coaching. She earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Queens University of Charlotte, a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of South Carolina, and a Bachelor of Science in Social Services from North Carolina A&T State University. She also holds the Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential, is an Actualized Performance Certified Professional, and holds a Diversity and Intercultural Competence Certification from Wake Forest University.
Tanya’s honors include the Charlotte BusinessWoman of the Year and the Charlotte Woman of the Year, both awarded in 2020. Reflecting her commitment to community service, she serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations.
Tanya is certified in the Actualized Leader Profile, or ALP, which is a tool that links inner beliefs to leadership style and influence. The assessment can help leaders identify blind spots, clarify leadership values, strengthen emotional intelligence and build executive presence.
